High-Altitude Survival Protocols: Contingencies for Medical, Vehicle, and Weather Emergencies

This comprehensive guide establishes a rigorous Emergency Contingency Plan for high-altitude travel based on expert field protocols. It defines the medical "Red Lines" for HACE and HAPE, emphasizing immediate descent as the primary cure. It details survival strategies for vehicle failures, including black ice management, the "50% Fuel Rule," and thermal protection requirements (-20°C sleeping bags). Furthermore, it outlines critical weather responses for blizzards and implements a "Dead Man's Switch" communication protocol to ensure rescue in signal-blind areas.
