Situated directly east of Lintao County in Gansu Province, Yuelu Mountain serves as a profound cultural landmark where the Loess Plateau meets the fringes of the Tibetan highlands. Covering an area of approximately 1.5 square kilometers and rising to an altitude of 2,200 meters, it is often heralded as the "Cultural Mountain of Longshang". A Bastion of Military Valor

Beyond its spiritual quietude, Yuelu Mountain holds a prestigious place in Chinese military history. Between 1130 and 1134 AD, during the Southern Song Dynasty's conflict with the Jin forces, the renowned generals Wu Jie and Wu Lin utilized this terrain as a strategic defensive post. The ruins of the "Wu Brothers' Memorial" and various military anecdotes preserved in local lore add a layer of tragic heroism to the landscape. This historical significance makes Yuelu Mountain not just a scenic park, but a monument to the resilience of the Song frontier.

Geographically, the mountain offers spectacular vantage points such as the Taiyan Platform (also known as the Taishan Platform). This site is famous for the "Taiyan Tai Morning Mist," recognized as one of the "Eight Ancient Scenes of Lintao".
