By autumn (September to November), the landscape turns into a sea of gold as the rice ripens for harvest, symbolizing abundance. Even in winter, the occasional sea of clouds rolling through the valley can obscure the lower levels, leaving the upper terraces floating like islands in the sky, adding a mystical, ink-painting quality to the scenery.
