In the Tibetan language, it is called "Lamu Dongcuo," which translates to the "Goddess's Thousand Lakes" or the "Lake of the Goddess." As part of the Three Parallel Rivers World Natural Heritage site (specifically the Hongshan area), this scenic area covers approximately 20 square kilometers. It is a sanctuary of well-preserved alpine glacial lakes, primitive forests, and vast meadows. From an aerial view, thousands of lakes of varying sizes are scattered like diamonds across the alpine forests and pastures, creating a breathtaking mosaic of water and greenery at altitudes ranging from 3,800 to 4,200 meters.

A Legend of Shattered Mirrors
